The Power to Choose

I have the power to choose and as a result the consequences of my choices do not depend on others.
It’s unfair to make bad choices and then blame others for what happens.
God gave us the power to choose good or evil, to obey or disobey.
No one is perfect, but those who obey have perfection as their goal. God is looking for people like this to serve Him.
Integrity, righteousness, the fear of God and a spirit that flees from sin are all qualities of those who spread the fragrance of Jesus in this world.

1-   Integrity and righteousness: the standards you have in your treatment of others. You do not simply respond in kind, you want others to have what you desire for yourself. Mathew 19.19
2-   The fear of God: faithfulness to God. Malachi 3.8
3-   Fleeing from evil: flee from all sin and unrighteousness. Job 1.1
What do we accomplish when we do the work of God but have bad character? Bad character is like bad breath for God… it’s unbearable.
Do we agree that doing the work of God consists of destroying the works of the devil? If so, how can we destroy them when we are teamed up with him?
It would be better to spread the fragrance of the Lord Jesus in this world than to be a maker of perfume.

Bishop Edir Macedo
