The Fast of Daniel

The Universal Church of the Kingdom of God (UCKG) has started a 21-day fast called The Fast of Daniel. This fast is aimed at bringing people closer to God and preparing them to be baptised with the Holy Spirit. Bishops, pastors, assistants and members of all UCKG churches in more than 180 countries around the globe have decided to take part In this fast which will start on 24th March and ends on 14th April.

What is the Fast of Daniel? It is based on the biblical account of prophet Daniel who dedicated three weeks (21 days)to fasting and prayer. Why  Is this fast so important? The 21 days of  this fast represents the death of the natural man (the carnal mind) and the birth of the spintual man.The purpose of setting time aside to fast is to strengthen communion With God, despite being involved in many daily activities.
What are the procedures for the fast?

The Fast of Daniel is not about fasting from food, but from all types secular information and media -TV, radio, magazines, newspapers, intemet, etc.  It will be 21days of abstinence from information unrelated to  the Bible. Those Who need to use secular media in their jobs may want to take part  in  a daily fast from food for six hours or more.Participants should pray three times a day (moning, afternoon and evening)and read the Bible for the duration of the fast.
