"Now
on the twenty-fourty day of this month the children of Israel were
assembled with fasting, in sackcloth, and with dust on their heads.
Then those of Israelite lineage separated themselves from all foreigners; and they stood and confessed their sins and the iniquities of their fathers.
And they stood up in their place and read from the book of the law of
the lord their God for one-fourth of the day; and for another fourth
they confessed and worshiped the Lord their God." (Nehemiah 9:1-3)
From now on we are going to engage ourselves on the 21-day Fast of
Daniel and during this time it's very important to take the best of your
time to seek wholeheartedly and sincerely the presence of God by
confessing your sins, giving ears to the voice of the Holy Spirit,
cleaning your hearts and minds from all evil feelings and thoughts and,
of course, read the Word of God, because in it you will find the answers
for your prayers and the direction of God for your life.
This
fast will be like a filter in your spiritual life and great changes
will happen. Therefore it's essential to keep yourself far from the
things of this world during this period of time, like secular songs,
entertainment, secular information and programs on TV, radio and
newspapers, games, etc and concentrate only on the information that will
feed and edify your spiritual life.
